ABOUT RUNA IKEDA
Runa Ikeda born in Japan, is a versatile artist known for her prowess in painting, drawing, clay works, installations and performance. Graduating from the Tokyo Design Academy in 2010 with a background in illustration and design, Runa began to express herself through paintings during her studies. For her, art serves as the ultimate form of self-expression, a medium through which she channels her soul, energy, and heart, confronting the depths of her unknown subconscious.
Runa's artistic exploration delves into the complexities of the human psyche.She transcends the limitations of the tangible world to access deeper realms of consciousness. Initially using painting as a means of releasing inner emotions, she gradually realised that her art encompasses something more profound—an exploration of the unknown sensations and memories that lie beyond conscious understanding.
Her practice encompasses both self-expression and a quest for something beyond the self, reflecting her belief in the interconnectedness of past, present, and future. Runa's art is a journey of facing the expanding the boundaries of the self to exploration the vast unknown territory of the subconscious mind.
With a relentless commitment to deep exploration, she continues to probe the uncharted territories of her psyche, driven by a desire to unravel the mysteries of existence.
